pilot super 57 (japan and burma version)
Pilot 57, japan edition:
The full name for this pen was the Pilot Super 57. It was a slightly smaller, more colorful generation of Super descended down from the original Pilot Supers. It was first released in 1957, hence the name. The rubber sac that came with the pen is still working to my surprise. This somehow means something, either the rubber quality then is superb, or the type of ink does kill the pen.
This is a pen given to me by my mother. It wasn't working then, the nib and feed fell out easily. With a lack of spare parts and unwilling to make permanent changes, it took me 2 years to have this repaired properly in an unorthadox way. the same way i fitted fountain pen nibs onto ballpoint pen body. no damage to the pen and reversible.
the nib and feed condition are superb though the body has seen wear and tear, of course.
pilot 57, burma edition:
This was made later in burma and was still found as late as 2000. the nib is made in japan. despite claims that it is and ED, it can take the converter from the japan edition.
This pen is in mint condition.
I acquire this model around 2-3 years ago. still a vintage, but a far cry from the original.
got more burma version, now in different colors
